Welcome to Pasumai Ulagam

Our organization “Pasumai Ulagam” was initiated by a group of social activists in the year 2000 as an ordinary “Youth Club”, with an ambition to undertake social welfare activities for poor and marginalized people and work towards establishing a “Green World.”

Our vision of a Green World goes beyond environmental safety. We aim to establish an educationally aware, economically empowered and environmentally responsible society.

We focus particularly on marginalized women and their children, as well as disadvantaged youth from slum and rural communities.

Today, our organization is led by a dedicated woman leader committed to continuing and strengthening this mission.

Our Legal Status

  • Registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 27 0f 1975.
  • Registered under 12 AA of the Income Tax act 1961 as a Public Charitable Society
  • Registered under 80-G of Income Tax Act, 1961.
  • Registered under Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GOI, New Delhi and
  • Registered in Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

VISION

Envisage quality education, economic empowerment and protect biodiversity in the environment among rural and marginalized people to create a self-reliant society.

MISSION

  • Engage that all girls and boys complete free primary and secondary schooling among rural and marginalized communities.
  • Provide adolescents and youths equal access to affordable vocational training and life-skill training for a sustainable future.
  • Promote income-generation activities to improve the standard of living of rural and marginalized women through micro-level groups.
  • Protect biodiversity by promoting awareness about climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and waste generation.
  • Eliminate gender and wealth disparities with the aim of achieving universal access to quality higher education.
